Imagine capturing the ethereal beauty of a meticulously styled wedding ceremony and reception set against the stunning backdrop of the Oceano Dunes in Pismo Beach, California. We recently hosted an extraordinary event for photographers, aptly named Surrealism in the Sand. This immersive experience was designed to inspire, challenge, and elevate the creative spirit of photographers from all walks of life.
The choice of Pismo Beach’s sand dunes as the location for this event was no accident. These dunes, with their ever-changing landscape and mesmerizing textures, provide a surreal and breathtaking setting that is perfect for capturing stunning images. The natural beauty of the area, combined with the unpredictable elements of wind and light, offered a dynamic canvas for photographers to explore.
Curating the Experience
At Earth & Events, we believe that every detail matters. For Surrealism in the Sand, our team meticulously planned every aspect of the wedding ceremony and reception set design to ensure that participants were not only inspired but also comfortable and well-supported throughout the event. From selecting the perfect floral arrangements to designing elegant table settings, we aimed to create a seamless and visually captivating experience.

The event kicked off with an orientation session where photographers got to know each other and were briefed on the day’s schedule. This was followed by guided tours of the wedding setup, highlighting key design elements and providing insights into the inspiration behind the styling. These sessions were interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and try out techniques on the spot.
